Sarge's Survivor Series Predictions

By Mike "Sarge" Riley, 98.5 The Sports Hub

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Survivor Series is the second oldest pay-per-view in the WWE behind Wrestlemania.  From 1987-1994 it was held on Thanksgiving Eve (including a show at the old Boston Garden in 1993). The traditional Survivor Series elimination matches had more interest injected back into them this year after the Raw and Smackdown brand splits.

What's also of note for this show is the two Heavyweight titles and two Women's titles will not be on the line. However, the main event features the return of Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar. Plus, on Smackdown this week, the Undertaker made his return and the Dead Man debuted at Survivor Series in 1990 -- you can bet he'll be in Toronto.

Here are my predictions for this weekend's event:

WWE Cruiserweight Championship

Cruiserweight Champion Brian Kendrick vs. Kalisto

A win for Kalisto and the Cruiserweight division moves to Smackdown on Tuesday's. It's got the makings to have it happen, and it has implications with the next match…

Sarge Says: Kalisto

WWE Intercontinental Championship

The Miz (C) vs. Sami Zayn

After the Miz won the title from Dolph Ziggler on Smackdown this week, all signs are that Zayn (Raw brand) is the favorite to win and take the Intercontinental title back to Raw.  It makes sense, especially if Kalisto wins.

Do I like it? No. But it happens.

Sarge Says: Sami Zayn

10-on-10 Tag Team Elimination Match

Team Raw (The New Day, Anderson & Gallows, Sheamus & Cesaro, Enzo & Big Cass, The Shining Stars) vs Team Smackdown (Slater & Rhyno, The Usos, American Alpha, Hype Bros, Breezango)

The Raw tag teams are much more powerful all around and they win this match with ease.

Sarge Says: Team Raw

Women's 5-on-5 Tag Team Elimination Match

Team Raw (Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Bayley, Nir Jax, Alicia Fox) vs Team Smackdown (Becky Lynch, Nicki Bella, Alexa Bliss, Naomi, Carmella)

I don't see Sasha Banks and Charlotte putting their differences aside to work together as a team. But, who's to say Nikki Bella and Carmella will do the same? Smackdown Women's division is not as strong as Raw's, but I think this will be their night.

Sarge Says: Team Smackdown

Men's 5-on-5 Tag Team Elimination Match

Team Raw (Roman Reigns, Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho, Seth Rollins, Braun Strowman) vs Team Smackdown (Dean Ambrose, AJ Styles, Bray Wyatt, Randy Orton, Shane McMahon)

All of the top guys on both rosters are in this match. This is finally the moment when Owens and Jericho lose their cool with each other and a feud will begin shortly after. Also, with Undertaker not on the card, I think the dead man will interfere; it makes sense after he said this week he's here to "take souls, and dig holes."

Sarge Says: Team Smackdown

Main Event – Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg

This is Goldberg's first time back in a WWE ring in 12 years. These two also fought at Wrestlemania XX, with Goldberg coming away with the win. This time around, the WWE gave Goldberg the match to push his character in the new video game, and it will push him into the Hall of Fame next spring. Lesnar is still under contract with WWE and he doesn't lose this match. Let's just hope it's a good one.

Sarge Says: Brock Lesnar

Sunday afternoon into the evening should be good with the Patriots-49ers, and then the Survivor Series opening bell at 7pm - a great way to kickoff Thanksgiving week!

And that's the bottom line... because Sarge said so!
