Patriots' Rob Gronkowski, Chris Hogan Both Out Vs. 49ers

BOSTON (CBS) --  The Patriots left for San Francisco on Friday afternoon, but one of their biggest contributors on offense did not make the trip.

After missing his third day of practice, tight end Rob Gronkowski did not make the trip with the team and has reportedly been ruled out for Sunday's game against the 49ers.

Earlier this week, Gronkowski was reportedly advised not to fly after suffering a chest injury last Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks. According to The NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Gronkowski suffered a perforated lung after taking a big hit from Seattle safety Earl Thomas.

Gronkowski missed the first two games of the season with a hamstring injury, but leads the Patriots with 540 receiving yards on just 25 receptions. His average of 21.6 yards per reception is best in the NFL.

In addition to Gronkowski, Patriots receiver Chris Hogan has also been ruled out due to a bad back he suffered in practice last week. He was held to no catches on three targets in New England's Week 10 loss to Seattle.

Tight end Martellus Bennett (ankle) and receiver Julian Edelman (foot) are both listed as questionable for Sunday.
