Black Friday: When Do Stores Open In Massachusetts?

BOSTON (CBS) -- For serious shoppers in Massachusetts who are looking to score some big Black Friday deals, the planning process can get a little tricky.

That's because even though many major retailers advertise doorbuster bargains starting on Thursday, the Bay State's "blue laws" prevent most stores from opening on Thanksgiving Day and other major holidays.

We reached out to the big stores to find out when they'll be opening their doors in Massachusetts on Black Friday. Keep in mind that ordinances in some towns may force retailers to open even later, so you may want to check in with your favorite place to shop ahead of time.

Walmart:  1 a.m. (4 a.m. in Avon)

Best Buy: 1 a.m.

Target: 1 a.m. (6 a.m. in Salem)

Sears: 5 a.m. (Thanksgiving/Black Friday ad prices also apply on Wednesday in Mass.)

Macy's: 12:30 a.m.

Kohl's: 1 a.m.

Toys R Us: 1 a.m.

JCPenney: 12:30 a.m.

T.J.Maxx: 7 a.m.

Marshalls: 7 a.m.

Dick's: 12:30 a.m.

Home Depot: 6 a.m.

Office Depot: 6 a.m.

Staples: 6 a.m.

GameStop: 5 a.m.

Bed Bath & Beyond: 6 a.m.

Kmart: 12 a.m.

Babies R Us: 8 a.m.

BJ's: 7 a.m.

Sam's Club: 7 a.m.

Costco: 9 a.m.
