Galleria Umberto
North End

Kicking off the Great 8 is the legendary Galleria Umberto. Located in Boston's North End, Umberto is a cafeteria style spot where the locals flock for some of the tastiest slices of Sicilian anywhere on the East Coast. Be advised, you have to get there early, because whenever they're out of their pizza, panini, calzone, panzarottli and arrancini, they close the doors for the day.

Fellini
Providence, Cranston RI

With locations in Providence and Cranston, Rhode Island, Fellini is fun and funky spot serving some of the most creative pies in all of New England. There's the Kitchen Sink, topped with penne pasta, roasted red peppers, pepperoni and feta in a parmesan cream sauce; and the Sweet Heaven piled high with ricotta and bacon. For something truly original, hit Fellini on the day before Thanksgiving, because that's the day the Fellini team dons their turkey hats and stuffs everything you love about the holiday meal onto a pizza.

Brewer's Fork
Charlestown

Brewer's Fork in Charlestown is a relaxed neighborhood spot cooking up pizza perfection from a giant wood fired oven. There's the Marge, a spin on the classic margherita, studded with fresh mozzarella; an amazing genoa salami pizza; or a beauty topped with bacon jam, mozzarella cheese, cherry tomatoes and heaps of fresh basil. The true must-order at Brewer's Fork has to be the clam pizza made with Cape Cod clams, bacon, garlic, shallots and crumbled pecorino cheese.

Rock N Coal
Bellingham

Another Great 8 Winner is Rock N Coal in Bellingham. Here they make some of the crispiest coal fired pizza around, charred to perfection in a state-of-the-art rotating oven. When it comes to toppings,
you can have anything from a traditional margherita or pepperoni, to the spicy Buffalo chicken with blue cheese.

900 Degrees
Manchester, Epping NH

900 Degrees in Manchester and Epping, New Hampshire cooks all of their pizzas in a 900 degree wood burning oven. While you can keep it simple and order the perfect Margherita made with San Marzano
tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and basil, there's so much more. Try the Saltimbocca pizza, boasting roasted chicken and fontina; the Basa Nova featuring sausage and jalapenos with fresh lime juice; and for something truly different, check out the Granny Smith pizza topped with Applewood bacon, marinated roasted chicken, granny smith apples, and caramelized walnuts.

Angelo's
Quincy

Angelo's in Quincy serves some of the best coal fired pizzas around, from ones topped with crunchy pepperoni, to a beautiful ricotta and meatball pizza, to a sweet Chicken Marsala pie. For something
even sweeter, order the Apple Pie Pizza - a truly memorable dessert featuring apple pie filling, crumble gelato, whipped cream and caramel sauce.

Anzio's
Grafton

Another Great 8 winner is Anzio's in Grafton. At Anzio's the specialty is New Haven style pizza, made with a thin airy crust, and topped with everything from Italian Prosciutto, caramelized onions and Balsamic, to something called the Sienna, spiked with sweet Italian sausage, Roasted Peppers and Fontina. Their classic Margherita is simple yet scrumptious, sauced with slow cooked marinara.

Otto
Multiple Locations

Rounding off the Great 8 is Otto. With five locations in Massachusetts and another five in Maine, Otto Pizza serves the most tempting arrays of slices you can find anywhere in New England. The menu boasts 24 signature pizzas which are cycled throughout the day, so you can always try something new. There's pulled pork with mango, Three-Cheese Tortellini, and a Mashed Potato pizza. For something a little sweeter, check out the Butternut Squash, Ricotta, and Cranberry Pizza.
