Framingham State University Student Tests Positive For Mumps
FRAMINGHAM (CBS) – A student at Framingham State University has tested positive for mumps.
As a precaution, the student is undergoing treatment in isolation.
The student had been immunized with two doses of MMR vaccine, "as have almost all of our students as a pre-admission requirement" the university said.
The university is checking immunization records of all roommates and classmates with whom the student may have had contact.
Mumps is a viral infection that causes swelling in the salivary glands and cheeks.
