Second Officer Injured In East Boston Shootout Released From Hospital
BOSTON (CBS) – An injured Boston Police officer has been released from the hospital, more than one week after he and another officer were shot while responding to a domestic violence call at an East Boston house.
Officer Matt Morris was discharged from Massachusetts General Hospital on Saturday and brought to Spaulding Rehab for further treatment.
I-Team: Man Who Shot Officers Wanted To 'Assist Boston Police Dept'
Morris and Officer Richard Cintolo were wounded after being shot on Gladstone Street by Kirk Figueroa, who was then shot and killed by police.
Cintolo was released from the hospital on Wednesday.
Both officers underwent multiple surgeries in the days following the East Boston shootout.
"Great to see Matt getting better. Thanks everybody for all the support. Please keep the prayers coming," said Boston Police Commissioner William Evans.
