Norwood Police Arrest Same Man Twice In One Shift

NORWOOD (CBS) -- A Norwood Police officer arrested the same man twice in the span of one shift over the weekend.

Police said Thomas Dimarzo, 33, of Norwood was first picked up at 2:30 a.m. on Saturday for breaking into a home on Silver Street.

They said Dimarzo admitted to the crime, but claimed he was sleepwalking.

Police said he appeared to be under the influence of drugs.

He was arrested and charged with breaking and entering and illegal possession of class C and E substances, but posted bail within hours of his arrest.

A few hours later, Norwood Police responded to the same area for reports of more break-ins near Dimarzo's address, including one on Sycamore Street where cash and scratch tickets were reported missing.

They said they found Dimarzo with the cash and scratch tickets in the area shortly after.

He was arrested by the same officer and charged with breaking and entering, along with four counts of attempted breaking and entering.

He was held without bail this time, and on Monday, was arraigned in Dedham District Court.
