Nude Man Arrested At Westport Beach

WESTPORT (CBS) – Police arrested a man who they say was fully nude when he approached a woman and her son on a Westport beach.

On Tuesday around 6 p.m. a woman and her 10-year-old son were walking on Horseneck State Beach when she said a fully naked man stood up from his beach chair and approached them.

An off-duty Massachusetts State Police trooper saw the man and yelled at him as the woman called police.

The trooper confronted the man and followed him to his car. Westport Police said the nude man drove away in a pickup truck.

He was stopped on Route 88 and identified as 55-year-old Paul Carmichael of Stoughton.

Police say Carmichael admitted to similar acts on the beach in the past.

Carmichael was charged with felony open and gross lewdness.

"Based on statements from the officer and the woman this man intentionally encountered her and she was shocked and alarmed," Westport Police said.
