RISE Of The Jack O'Lanterns Coming To Boston This Halloween
BOSTON (CBS) -- This Halloween, thousands of jack o'lanterns will light up the Boston Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center.
RISE of the Jack O'Lanterns is coming to Boston from October 27-30.
The event features 5,000 pumpkins, hand-carved into jack o'lanterns and creative structures and arranged along a walking path.
In a release, RISE said some of the pumpkins will be carved into the likenesses of pop culture characters, while others will be used to create multi-pumpkin art--like life-sized dinosaurs and dragons.
Some of the pieces feature intricately carved 100-pound gourds.
Guests on the pumpkin trail can watch the artists make carvings for the display, live and in person.
In a release, Resident Master Carver Tom Olton said that, to make this year's event possible, over 150 artists are working on both coasts.
"We have a large staff that works every week of the year to make sure have a successful event in October," Olton said.
No tickets will be sold at the door, so advance tickets are required. For more information and to buy tickets, visit therise.org/ma.
