2-Year-Old Boy Struck By Car In Brockton

BROCKTON (CBS) – A young boy was seriously injured after being struck by a car in Brockton on Tuesday night.

Sources told WBZ-TV a 2-year-old boy was hit by a car around 7:30 p.m. on Market Street, not far from his home.

The boy's condition is not yet known, but he was taken to a Boston hospital by MedFlight with what are believed to be life-threatening injuries.

Police say the driver stopped at the scene, and it appears to have been a "horrible accident."

Officers spent Tuesday night looking for clues around the Toyota Camry that hit the boy.

At one point, police could be seen looking at the driver's phone.

Heidi Garcia was among those who rushed to the scene after hearing the crash.

"I just heard screaming and crying," Garcia said.

No further details on the crash are currently available.
