Man Accused Of Pulling Machete During Road Rage Incident

WORCESTER (CBS) – Police have arrested a man for allegedly pulling a machete on a driver during a violent road rage incident near a high school in Worcester.

Police say the machete was found under the car floor-mat where the man's 13-year-old daughter was sitting.

Police say the incident started when a school resource officer at Burncoat High School was flagged down by a concerned driver Tuesday afternoon. The driver told the officer he had seen a man wielding a machete.

Officers found the man at Rexhame Road where he and another driver were both out of their cars. The men had different stories, but one of them told police that the two had exchanged profanities and gestures during a road rage incident and at one point 41-year-old Aldo Rivera threatened him with a machete and punched him in the face.

Rivera was arrested and charged with assault and battery among other charges. He is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday.
