No More Homework: School Wants Students To Have More Family Time

HOLYOKE (CBS) – A dream of students everywhere has come true at one Holyoke elementary school – no more homework!

Teachers at the K-8 Kelly Elementary School have been told not to assign any homework this year. The school day, however, will be two hours longer.

Principal Jacqueline Glasheen says the expectation is that students will do their work and get help from teachers during the day.

"We really want kids to go home at 4 o'clock tired. We want their brain to be tired. We want them to enjoy their families. We want them to go soccer practice or football practice, and we want them to go to bed. And that's it," Glasheen said.
