"The trooper suffered non life-threatening injuries and was conscious and alert when transported by Boston EMS to Tufts Medical Center," State Police spokesman Dave Procopio said in a statement.  He was released later Tuesday morning.

The woman driving the car that hit the cruiser, 21-year-old Lily Reid of Quincy, was arrested and charged with drunk driving and failure to move over for an emergency vehicle.

Reid is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Boston Municipal Court.

The trooper's name has not been made public.  He is assigned to Troop E, which patrols Boston's tunnels and the Massachusetts Turnpike.

No other information is available at this point in the investigation.
