Sources told WBZ-TV's Anna Meiler that the suspect took off on a motorcycle after stabbing the man in the neck. A be on the lookout was issued and a Wakefield officer spotted a motorcycle matching the description on Route 128 North, Meiler reports.

But when the officer tried to pull the driver over, the motorcycle took off at about 100 MPH and police did not initiate a pursuit.

Lyons was arrested Friday night. "This case is a prime example of strong investigative work by detectives who were able to apprehend a violent felon within 18 hours after the incident," Chief Ferullo said.

Gerry Fruggiero, director of operations for Jake n JOES, issued a statement about the incident.

"It's a terrible incident that happened last night. Nothing like this has ever happened before at any of our locations," Fruggiero said. "At Jake n JOES we value our patrons' and staff's safety. We will continue to cooperate with the authorities and anyone else. Our thoughts are with the victim and we hope the suspect will be apprehended soon."

No further information on the stabbing is currently available.
