Bill Would Ban Sex Offenders From Playing Pokemon Go In Mass.

BOSTON (CBS) – There is a new push to keep sex offenders from playing the popular Pokemon Go game in Massachusetts.

Rep. Jonathan Zlotnik, a Democrat from Gardner, filed a bill that would "prohibit use of location based augmented reality multiplayer games by sex offenders."

The interactive smartphone game is being played by millions across the country and has taken over public areas like the Boston Common since its release in July.

Using each gamer's GPS location; it sends players into the real world to look for virtual Pokemon characters.

On Monday, New York banned nearly 3,000 registered sex offenders on parole from playing Pokemon Go.

Police have warned players to be aware of their surroundings while using the game.
