HAVERHILL (CBS) – A man who drowned Wednesday night in Haverhill has been identified.
Rescuers pulled 47-year-old Trent Cook from the Merrimack River around 8 p.m. He was transported to Holy Family Hospital but pronounced dead.
Two other people were also pulled from the river after they jumped in trying to save Cook.
One of them, a woman, was a friend of his. The other person was a man who had been fishing nearby when he heard screams.
Foul play is not suspected in Cook’s death.
