HOLLISTON (CBS) – You don’t hear a lot of “sweet” stories about civilians and police interacting these days. Well here’s one.
Six year old Jackson Bisazza and his family appreciate everything their hometown Holliston Police officers do, so they decided to treat them to some goodies.
Jackson helped deliver 30 “Survival Kits For Law Enforcement Officers.”
Each bag contained candies like Snickers, Starburst, Tootsie Rolls and Peppermint Patties.
Every candy came with a message of support. For instance, Lifesavers were “to remind you of how many times you’ve been one.”
Mounds were for “the mounds of courage you show.”
Holliston Police Chief John Moore was so appreciative. He told WBZ, “Policing is going through troubling times and when citizens come out and support us, it really tugs at your heart strings.”
Jackson not only inspired the police, he inspires his family every day. The boy has undergone 22 surgeries at Children’s Hospital on his hips and pelvis. Those operations have finally enabled him to walk.
His mother Wendy says Jackson, “has taught us to be thankful for everything we have.”
