Proposed Change Would Allow Towns To Make Liquor License Decisions
BOSTON (CBS) – Lawmakers are considering a change to the way liquor licenses are distributed to businesses in Massachusetts.
Gov. Charlie Baker wants to allow cities and towns to determine the number of liquor licenses they give out instead of asking local officials to petition to state lawmakers.
Members of the Massachusetts Senate agreed with Baker, adding the change to their version of the municipal reform bill.
The House, however, has not yet done the same.
The legislative session comes to a close at the end of the month.
