Man Accused Of Hiding Camera In Dover, NH Bathroom

DOVER, NH (CBS) - A man is accused of putting a hidden camera in an employee restroom of a business in Dover, New Hampshire.

Investigators say 32-year-old Matthew Elwell of Dover put the camera, disguised as a digital clock, on the top of the toilet tank at his workplace, Rocky Coast Printing.

It recorded three employees, two women and a man, at the business. No customers were recorded.

Police said they were able to link the crime to Elwell because he recorded himself on the camera.

"When you set up a camera, you often times will photograph yourself as you set up the camera and that's something that, when we examined the camera, led us to Mr. Elwell without getting specific," Dover Police Lt. Brant Dolleman said.

Elwell was arrested on three charges of Violation of Privacy. He was released on personal recognizance bail and his scheduled to arraigned on October 24, 2016.
