Fenway Park Will Host Pair Of Hockey East Doubleheaders In 2017

BOSTON (CBS) -- Hockey is heading back to Fenway Park in the winter of 2017.

The home of the Boston Red Sox will host a pair of Hockey East doubleheaders as part of Frozen Fenway 2017:

Saturday, January 7, 2017:
Boston University vs. University of Massachusetts
Boston College vs. Providence College

Saturday, January 14, 2017:
University of Maine vs. University of Connecticut
University of New Hampshire vs. Northeastern University

Times for those four games, and additional college and high school hockey games, will be announced in the near future.

"Outdoor hockey is quickly becoming a staple on Boston's winter sports calendar and we look forward to joining with Hockey East and the City of Boston to build on that tradition by bringing some of the most accomplished and talented collegiate teams in the country to compete on the ice at Fenway Park," Boston Red Sox President Sam Kennedy said on Wednesday.

Frozen Fenway 2017 will take place from January 4-16, and in addition to hockey, will also feature a free public skating day for City of Boston residents.
