Authorities Identify 19-Year-Old Fatally Shot By Police In Peterborough, NH

PETERBOROUGH, N.H. (AP) — The Attorney General's office has identified a man who was fatally shot by police in Peterborough following a brief pursuit this week.

Attorney General Joseph Foster says 19-year-old Lane Lesko of Michigan died of a single gunshot wound on Tuesday on Route 136. The manner of death is homicide.

Details of the shooting were not released. No police officers were hurt.

On Monday, the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department said authorities in the state and in Maine were searching for a Lane Lesko of Ann Arbor, Michigan, who disappeared during a camping trip at Lake Umbagog. It was organized by a group called Summit Achievement.

Officers said a missing canoe, truck and pontoon boat were connected to Lesko's disappearance.

Assistant Attorney General Jason Casey said Wednesday he couldn't comment on other pending investigations.
