Red Sox To Donate Raffle Proceeds To Orlando Victims, Fly Rainbow Flag Over Fenway

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Boston Red Sox announced that proceeds from a raffle Tuesday night will be donated to the victims of the Orlando massacre, and that the rainbow flag will fly above Fenway Park during Tuesday night's game against the Baltimore Orioles.

The team said in a release Tuesday afternoon that proceeds from the raffle will be donated to the Florida Disaster Fund. That fund was activated by Florida Governor Rick Scott in the wake of the mass shooting, which killed 49 people and injured more than 50 early Sunday morning.

A 50/50 raffle is run by the Red Sox Foundation during each home game the team plays, with half of the proceeds given to a winning ticket holder and the other half given to a charitable program affiliated with the foundation.

The Red Sox also said in the statement Tuesday that the organization would continue to fly the American flag at half mast in Fenway Park's center field.
