Police: Ashland Woman Upset Over Pizza Deal Threw Metal Sign At Young Girl

FRAMINGHAM (CBS) -- Police said an Ashland woman upset over having to pay more than she expected for a pizza deal was arrested after she hit an 11-year-old girl in the face with a metal sign Wednesday.

Iesha Davis, 36, was arraigned Thursday in Framingham District Court on a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon--a metal pizza sign--and released on $100 bail.

An employee at the Framingham Sub Shop & Pizza restaurant on Concord Street said Davis, who demanded chicken be added to a pizza order she previously called in, became angry over the fact that the cost would then be higher than the advertised $17.99 deal.

The employee told police Davis started screaming and swearing in front of several children, and was asked to stop because she was scaring them. The employee said that's when Davis picked up the sign advertising the deal and threw it, striking the girl, the employee's daughter, in the face, giving her a scratch running from her eye to her hairline.

Davis then left the restaurant. Police found and arrested her at her home on Cordaville Road.

After she was released on bail Thursday, Davis was ordered to stay away from the restaurant and the girl. She is due back in court on July 15 for a pretrial hearing.
