Daily Talker: Lego Sets Becoming More Violent?

They've been a popular toy for decades. A new study found Legos have become violent. Researchers at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand looked at the number of weapons included in Lego kits. Weapons were first introduced to Lego sets in 1978 when a sword, halberd and lance were included in a castle kit. Researchers say today nearly 30 percent of all Lego sets include at least one weapon. The researchers also found the imagery Lego uses has become more violent. A Lego spokesman told the Huffington Post, "As with other play types, conflict play is a natural part of a child's development. We always try to use humor where possible as it helps tone down the level of conflict." What do you think? Have Legos become violent or too violent?
