BOSTON (CBS) – A new study is giving insight into the one of the great parenting debates.
Letting your baby “cry it out” at bedtime may not be harmful, according to Australian researchers.
The study from Flinders University says that infants left alone while fussing in cribs fell asleep faster and stayed asleep longer.
They also said babies’ stress levels were about the same as when parents used gentler methods like delaying bedtime to tire out infants.
The findings were reported in the newest issue of Pediatrics.
