WORCESTER (CBS) — The Mass. Department of Transportation is paying tribute to a slain Auburn Police officer Monday night.
MassDOT announced via Twitter that the Burns Bridge, which connects Worcester to Shrewsbury and stretches over Lake Quinsigamond, will shine blue Monday night in honor of Officer Ronald Tarentino, who was shot and killed during a routine traffic stop early Sunday morning.
Investigators say Tarentino, a husband and father of three, was shot to death by 35-year-old Jorge Zambrano during a traffic stop in Auburn.
Tarentino served as a Leicester Police officer for seven years, before transferring to the Auburn Police Department, where he had served for two years.
