BOSTON (CBS) — Now that the Celtics know where they’ll be picking in this year’s NBA Draft, the only question is what they’ll do with the third overall choice. On Wednesday, Rich Keefe joined The Adam Jones show to debate what direction Boston should go come draft night.

If the Celtics are unable to package the pick in a trade for a star, Adam Jones and Rich Keefe agreed that the Celtics should look to add a shooter.

To Keefe, Oklahoma’s Buddy Hield is the pick.

“I want a scorer and I want someone who can knock down outside shots,” said Keefe. “I know it’s another guard and that’s going to upset some people, (who would say) ‘Oh, my god. Another guard?’ but one thing all those guards have in common, they can’t shoot. None of them can shoot. So give me a guard that can shoot.”

Kentucky’s Jamal Murray would be Jones’ shooter of choice over Hield. More importantly, however, Jones emphasized that Providence’s Kris Dunn would be a poor fit for the Celtics’ roster.

“I don’t need another defense-first guard. To me, he’s Marcus Smart. I’m not sure he’s a point guard – I think he’s more of a point guard than Smart was coming in [to the NBA], but I also don’t even think he was the shooter Smart was coming in,” said Jones. “They don’t need another defense-first guard.”
