BOSTON (CBS) – Smoke could be seen in the Boston area for miles as a scrap yard fire burned in Everett Friday afternoon.

The Everett Fire Department said the incident at a metal yard on Rover Street “looks worse than it is.”

Smoldering metal at the scene was causing all the smoke, officials said.

No injuries have been reported.

Brush fires were reported earlier in the day in Boston’s Fens neighborhood, and in Norfolk, where nearby homes were threatened.
