Dic Donohue's Wife Gives Birth To Baby Boy

BOSTON (CBS) – Retired Transit Police Officer Dic Donohue's wife gave birth to the couple's second child Friday in the same hospital where he was treated for life-threatening injuries after a Watertown shootout with the Boston Marathon bombers.

Donohue posted a photo Friday with his wife Kim, the couple's first child, and the family's newest addition, Connor Donohue.

The former officer, who was promoted to sergeant before retiring earlier this year, was rushed to Mt. Auburn Hospital on April 19, 2013, after he was injured in a shootout with Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev.

After being shot, Donohue received more than 40 units of blood to save his life.

Tuesday marked the third anniversary of the shootout. Donohue marked the occasion by saying it's "always great to be alive on this day!"
