"I was just in shock, I really didn't think anything," Dundas said. "I had glass all over me and luckily I had sunglasses on because there was glass all over my face."

She told WBZ-TV she remained calm, and quickly pulled over to the side of the road. Her car was so badly damaged she could not drive it back home.

"All I kept thinking was thank God it didn't go all the way through, cause it would have hit me in the head," she said.

State Police believe the metal came from the bottom of a truck.

"We are thankful the woman was not injured, but would like to remind all motorists to ensure all loads are properly secured," State Police said. "This incident could have had a fatal outcome."

Dundas said she was going to buy a lottery ticket after surviving the ordeal.
