Seals Take Over Cape Cod Beach

CHATHAM (CBS) – Have you ever seen so many seals in one place?

Aaron Knight from Norwell captured video over the weekend of a seemingly endless line of seals taking over a beach on Monomoy Island off Chatham.

Nearly 300,000 people have viewed the video shot from a plane.

18 Trillion Seals (rough estimate) this afternoon along Monomoy, south of Chatham MA. Miles and miles of continuous blubber. It's getting out of control. Time to let the local teens go out clubbing on the weekends again, old school! ;-) -- (PS - sarcasm throughout... Relax!)

"Miles and miles of continuous blubber," Knight wrote. "It's getting out of control."

He says he's been watching Cape Cod seals from the air for years, but has never seen a display like this.

With so many seals, this could signal a busy season for Great White sharks on the Cape.
