Honda Drivers Accidentally Double-Charged For Car Payments

TOKYO (CBS) – Honda is apologizing after many customers say they were double-charged for their monthly car payments.

The car company's Facebook page is filled with complaints by drivers, some saying their accounts were overdrafted by Honda's mistake, leading to fines.

"I'm 24 years old and my monthly payment is $420," one customer wrote. "Now I've been double charged and am currently in the hole $350 with my bank."

On top of that, Honda says the average hold time for someone trying to call financial services is 20-30 minutes due to the high volume of complaints.

Honda says customers should start getting their refunds on Thursday, and they'll reimburse anyone who had to pay overdraft fees because of the error.

"We regret this inconvenience and are working diligently to resolve this matter as quickly as possible," Honda said.
