Matt Grzelcyk Signs Entry-Level Contract With Bruins

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Boston Bruins are signing their guy.

At the end of a week where former Predators draftee Jimmy Vesey made headlines by opting to not sign with the team that drafted him, the Bruins are avoiding such a fate with their own Charlestown draft pick, Matt Grzelcyk.

According to TSN's Bob McKenzie, Grzelcyk and the Bruins agreed on a two-year entry-level deal on Friday.

The Bruins drafted Grzelcyk with the 85th overall pick (third round) of the 2012 draft. The Charlestown native played four years for the Boston University Terriers, where he scored 20 goals and added 41 assists over 68 games in his junior and senior seasons combined.

It was reported earlier this week that the potential to play with Grzelcyk could end up luring Vesey to sign with the Bruins this summer, when he becomes a free agent.
