Pickup Truck Driver Killed In I-95 Crash In Newbury

NEWBURY (CBS) – A driver was killed in a crash on Interstate 95 in Newbury early Wednesday morning, according to State Police.

A pickup truck went off the highway near exit 55, slammed into the abutment of the Central Street bridge and burst into flames just after midnight.

"The driver and lone occupant of the truck, at 2015 Dodge Ram, was determined to be deceased at the scene," State Police said in a statement. "He has been identified as a 54-year-old New Hampshire resident. His name is not being released at this time."

It's not clear yet what caused the crash.

No other information is available at this point in the investigation.
