Woman Seriously Hurt In 2-Vehicle Stoughton Crash; 2 Others Injured

STOUGHTON (CBS) -- Three people were hurt, including a woman who had to be flown by medical helicopter to a hospital after suffering serious injuries, in a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in Stoughton.

Police were called to the Canton and School streets area around 2:16 p.m.

A 34-year-old woman driving a car that struck the other vehicle suffered potentially life-threatening injuries, police say. She was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital, and her current status was unknown late Saturday night.

Her two passengers, a woman in her 50s and another woman in her 30s, suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The driver of the other vehicle was traveling alone and wasn't hurt, police say.

Investigators say the seriously injured woman was looking at her GPS, drove through a stop sign and struck the other vehicle passing through. She has been cited for failing to stop at posted stop sign.

No additional information was immediately available.
