Wednesday's Child: 10-Year-Old Danasia

Danasia is a 10-year-old girl of African American and Caucasian descent who is easy to sit down with and have a conversation. She enjoys arts and crafts activities and playing with age-appropriate toys, including Barbie dolls. She is described as a "sassy" young lady who cares a lot about her appearance. Danasia is mostly well-behaved in her foster home and is engaged in school-based therapy. Danasia will be entering the fourth grade in the fall. She has the potential for academic success but struggles with listening to her teacher and following directions.

Danasia is legally freed for adoption and would do well in a home of any constellation that could accommodate an open adoption agreement, which calls for four visits a year with her birth parents until an adoption is filed, at which time visits will be decreased to two visits a year. It will be important to Danasia to also have some contact with her three siblings.
