Elderly Ayer Woman Shot Through Wall By Neighbor, Police Say

AYER (CBS) -- An elderly woman in Ayer was struck by a bullet early Wednesday morning when a neighbor fired shots through the wall, police say.

Authorities were called to a condo complex at 26 Harvard Road just after midnight, where officers determined that a resident sent bullets into the next-door residence.

Police said one of the rounds hit an elderly woman in the ankle while she lay in bed. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Treyvon Choate was taken into custody for multiple firearms and assault and battery charges, and for removing his court-ordered tracking bracelet, police said. The incident is still under investigation.
