With Two Chances For Snow Next Week, Forecast Is Complicated

BOSTON (CBS) – First, we are enjoying a fantastic weekend with temperatures running way warmer compared to last weekend.

Watch: Latest AccuWeather Forecast

Sunday will be mostly sunny with highs around 50. Then, we have two chances for snow this week.

WARM WEATHER THEN SNOW?

The first chance will be Sunday night into Monday morning. Coming off such a warm weekend, we expect a wintry mix first Sunday night.

Then as temps dip to the upper 20s Monday morning, that mix will change to light snow accumulating to around 1" or so. Anything we get should melt by late morning.

Monday's high temperatures will be in the lower 40s.

The second chance for snow is very slim as well. This storm looks to bring us more rain since last night's model runs.

TRICKY SYSTEM TO PINPOINT

The forecast model runs from day-to-day are all in disagreement on the timing and track. According to the models today, the track will bring the east coast storm west of New England Wednesday night into Friday morning.

There is a chance for a wintry mix Wednesday night, changing to soaking rain Thursday. Then some light snow on the back side of the low as it moves out of the U.S. on Friday morning.

It's a very tricky system to pinpoint details at this time. And another interesting model trend - high temps could push 60 degrees Thursday!

Stay tuned to the WBZ weather team.  We will keep you updated on the latest storm developments.
