BOSTON (CBS) — More Krispy Kreme Doughnuts locations are coming to New England.

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc., announced plans Monday to open four shops in New Hampshire and three in Maine–but Dunkin’ Donuts shouldn’t panic quite yet, as the company said the stores will be opening “over the next several years.”

“The demand for Krispy Kreme doughnuts and coffee continues to grow throughout New England, so we are very happy to bring this iconic brand to New Hampshire and Maine,” said Patricia Perry, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts’ Vice President, Global Franchise Development, in a press release.

The company is partnering with NH Glazed, LLC owner Cort Mendez, who said the chain’s doughnuts and coffee already have a strong following in the northern New England states.

There are nearly 300 Krispy Kreme doughnut shops in 41 states.

There used to be a bakery kitchen at 199 Constitution Ave. in Portsmouth NH which is now closed. It was used to make 50,000+ Dunkin Donuts every night for 39 area stores. Much of the equipment may still be in there. Three walk-in proofers, a large autoproofer, two walk-in ovens for bagels muffins. a donut machine for cake donuts with two fryolators and conveyer belts for two production lines. A rondelle and dough cutting machine for yeast donuts. Four fryolators that take square screens for coffee rolls, bear claws, etc. Big Hobart mixers, A walk-in roll-in rack warewashing machine. A walk-in freezer. Doors with loading dock for trucks to pull up to. etc.

The name of the company was Lafayette Distributors and the building is for lease.
