Bergeron Passes Neely On Bruins' All-Time Point List

BOSTON (CBS) -- Patrice Bergeron made a milestone count in a big way Tuesday night in Montreal.

The Bruins' alternate captain scored the eventual game-winner in Boston's 4-1 win over the Canadiens, breaking a 1-1 tie at the 16:49 mark of the second period. The tally was the 591st point of Bergeron's career, moving him passed Cam Neely into sole possession of ninth place on the Bruins' all-time point list.

It's only fitting that Bergeron's milestone point was a big one for the team, as the win strengthened their hold on the first Wild Card spot and helped knock the Canadiens out of the playoff picture.

Boston's lone All-Star this season, Bergeron leads the team in goals (18), assists (23) and points (41). In 785 regular season games in his 12-year career with the Bruins, Bergeron has tallied 224 goals and 367 assists. Terry O'Reilly ranks eighth on Boston's all-time point list with 606 career points. Ray Bourque is the team's all-time leader with 1,506 career points with Boston.
