Mike Gorman: Isaiah Thomas Deserves To Be NBA All-Star

BOSTON (CBS) -- The NBA All-Star Game starting lineups will be announced Thursday, and Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas isn't expected to be part of that group.

But Boston's miniature scorer and fans alike have been making a hard push for him to make the Eastern Conference squad as a reserve. CSNNE's Celtics play-by-play man Mike Gorman joined 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher & Rich on Wednesday, and said there's no reason Thomas shouldn't make the team.

"You look at his averages, 20+ points per game and 6+ assists, he's one of six guys to do that. I don't think there is any argument you can make against him going to the All-Star Game," said Gorman. "He's the best player on the Celtics right now, he's been their clutch player and does what they ask of him. He distributes early and shoots the ball late when they need him.

"There is no reason Isaiah shouldn't be in the All Star game. He's maybe the third best guard in the Eastern Conference," Gorman said.

NBA All-Star Game reserves are selected by the league's head coaches, and will be announced on Thursday.

Gorman also talked about Boston's 3-1 stretch over the last week, and share a funny story about players using an alias at hotels when they travel:
