Felger & Mazz Video: Chiefs Not Good Enough To Beat Patriots At Gillette

BOSTON (CBS) -- The matchup is set, as the Patriots will host the Kansas City Chiefs in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs Saturday at Gillette Stadium.

The Chiefs won their 11th straight with a 30-0 victory over the Houston Texans on Wild Card weekend, returning the opening kickoff for a touchdown and forcing five turnovers. They will throw a very talented and opportunistic defense at Tom Brady and company Saturday afternoon with a trip to the AFC Championship game on the line.

98.5 The Sports Hub's Felger & Massarotti shared some quick thoughts on Saturday's matchup on Monday's show, with Felger a lot more confident the Patriots will come away with a win.

"I'd be surprised if [the Chiefs] came in here and won. You watch that offense against Houston and it was a lot of read option or jets sweep right," said Felger. "That's cute, but it ain't going to work here. Bill [Belichick] will make sure his outside linebackers stay home. That may work against other teams but it isn't against the Patriots.

"The way to beat the Patriots is to throw on them, have a quarterback that is good enough and smart enough to get back there, survey the field and find the matchup, throw on your third corner. I don't think Kansas City is built like that. I don't think they have the makeup to come in and beat you."

The Chiefs will take advantage of any miscues, but Felger doesn't see them as an imposing defense that will strike fear in the New England offense.

"If you play like crap, they can sit there and take the game from you if you want to give it to them. But they're not going to come in and beat you. There is a difference," he said. "Baltimore, in the past, could come in and take it from you. I don't think Kansas City can come in and take it from you if you play well. If you play like crap they'll play well, score 23 points and maybe [beat you]. But I'd be stunned if the Pats lose this game."
