Salisbury Man's Snowplow Stolen On Eve Of Storm

SALISBURY (AP) — A Massachusetts man hoping to make a few honest bucks during the region's first snowstorm of the season instead found himself filing a police report.

Richard Hughes, of Salisbury, says someone stole his 10-year-old snowplow right out of his yard on Monday.

The 53-year-old Hughes, a semi-retired contractor and property manager, says he hooks the plow to his truck every winter to make extra cash by clearing driveways and parking lots.

In good weather he stores the yellow, weather-beaten plow next to his garage.

He says he "never dreamed in a 1,000 years someone would steal a plow weighing 700, 800 pounds."

He's offering a $100 reward for its return, far less than the $3,000 or so he says it would take to buy a used one.
