Phantom Gourmet: Teresa's Prime In North Reading

NORTH READING (CBS) -- It sure looks, sounds, smells, and tastes like a steak you'd get at one of the big city steakhouses. But this juicy, tender, flavorful cut of meat is actually served hot off the grill at Teresa's Prime.

Thanks to owner Nick Yebba and chef Nick Yebba, Jr., the old Thomson Country Club in North Reading has been completely renovated into a state of the art complex that includes a beautiful function facility, a pool club in the warm weather, a casual sports bar called Grill 19 downstairs, and the upscale Teresa's Prime Steakhouse upstairs.

"I think what we've done is build one of the prettiest restaurants around," said Yebba. "There are waterfalls, stone walls for almost 300 feet. We have a huge fountain in the middle of the complex on a stone driveway that actually has fire. It sets the mood."

"It's casual but upscale," he continued. "Very sleek. Kinda got a Miami feel to it. We use 100% Brandt beef prime. We have a butcher shop set up downstairs in the restaurant. Chefs will come in in the morning and prepare all the steaks for the evening."

And unlike the Boston steakhouses that make you pay big bucks for your sides, at Teresa's Prime, two are included with every filet, sirloin, and ribeye.

"These are not cheesy sides. These are real nice sides--sides that you can really put your teeth into."

Yebba said that being upscale doesn't have to mean a restaurant can't be affordable.

"You eat like a king," said Yebba. "And that's how we wanted it. We wanted it to be special."
