2 Drivers Critically Injured In Derry, NH Crash

DERRY, N.H. (CBS) -- The drivers in a two-vehicle crash Saturday in Derry, New Hampshire were seriously injured.

The crash occurred on Rockingham Road near Pete's Scoop ice cream stand around 4:30 p.m.

Fire officials say both vehicles sustained significant damage, and one of the drivers was trapped inside his car.

Within 15 minutes, firefighters were able to free the man using the Jaws of Life. Fire officials say he was flown by medical helicopter to Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, and his condition is unknown.

The other driver was also freed from his SUV, and he was rushed by ambulance to Parkland Medical Center in Derry. His condition is unknown.

No one was traveling with either driver, fire officials said.

Rockingham Road was shut down for several hours.

No additional information was immediately available.
