Phantom Gourmet: Mystic Station In Malden
MALDEN (CBS) -- If you like burgers, steak tips, buffalo wings and beer, then you need to make a stop at Mystic Station.
Located in downtown Malden, Mystic Station is one of those great neighborhood spots where you can get some fantastic food in the casual dining room, a unique craft beer at the comfortable bar and a friendly smile and warm welcome from owners Nicole and Bryan Palazzolo.
"Hey what's up guys, how you doing? Good to see you," Bryan Palazzolo says.
The Mystic Station menu is filled with comfort food, like huge plates of golden beer battered fish and chips and a towering turkey club.
"It's really good. We roast our own turkey in house and then we hand carve it," Nicole Palazzo says. "It's layered with fresh avocado, bacon, lettuce and tomato and it's on a nice thick cut multigrain bread which we butter and we grill so it's toasty and warm."
Mystic Station's grilled steak tips are a top seller.
And while they're great on a plate, they're even better as part of one of the best steak and cheese subs you'll ever eat.
"We shave our steak in house out of our steak tip meat that's lightly marinated. We load it up with cheese, and put it in a beautiful baugette, which I didn't even know what a bagette was until my wife had to tell me. It's the long stick bread," Bryan Palazzolo says.
While Bryan might not know much about bagettes, he does know plenty about beer. So while Nicole works her magic back in the kitchen, he's more comfortable behind the bar.
"I know good food, I love food, however, I may not know the exact terminology of the good food so up here is definitely my my forte," he says. "I'd rather be out here in front of customers doing my thing and and making good drinks and hanging out and you know having that friendly atmosphere and making them part of my family."
