Attleboro Police Tweet List Of Over 200 Wanted Residents

ATTLEBORO (CBS) -- Police in Attleboro are hoping social media might help them track down more than 200 wanted people.

On Wednesday, the department tweeted out a long list of the names of individuals wanted on outstanding warrants.

"We're encouraging people to come in and clear their warrants up," Police Chief Kyle Heagney told The Sun Chronicle.

Most of the people on the list have failed to show up in court or may have moved, according to police.

Heagney says officers have tried knocking on doors, but are now turning to Twitter.

"The use of social media has been very fruitful for locating wanted persons," Heagney told the newspaper.
