Gostkowski Named AFC Special Teams Player Of Week

BOSTON (CBS) -- For the second time this season, the NFL is rewarding Stephen Gostkowski's golden leg.

On Wednesday, the Patriots' kicker was named the AFC's Special Teams Player of the Week. In Week 7 against Jets, Gostkowski connected on all three of his field goal attempts (from 38, 46 and 24 yards) and three extra points in New England's 30-23 win.

Gostkowski has been perfect for the Patriots this season, going 15-for-15 on field goal attempts and 24-for-24 on extra points. He also leads the NFL with 69 total points and 35 touchbacks.

This is the second time in his career that Gostkowski has won AFC Special Teams Player of the Week, the first coming in Week 9 of the 2009 season. In September, Gostkowski took home AFC Special Team Player of the Month honors, the third time he's earned that award.
