New Pizza-Specific Domino's Cars Delivering In New England

BOSTON (CBS) – Domino's has unveiled a new fleet of cars made specifically for delivering pizza, and several of them will be serving customers in New England.

The newly created DXP car is equipped with a built-in warming oven that can keep up to 80 pizzas hot as they're brought to hungry customers.

According to the Domino's website, the delivery cars have only one seat – for the driver. The rest of the vehicle has room for the warming oven and custom compartments that stabilize pizzas, sauces, drinks and other supplies.

A side-mounted light on the car is designed to illuminate puddles and curbs so drivers don't trip while carrying pizza.

There are currently 97 DXP cars nationwide. In New England there are seven in Massachusetts and one apiece in New Hampshire and Maine.

Chelmsford, Revere and Beverly are among the Domino's locations with DXP delivery.
