UMass Medical School Doctor Accused Of Taking Photo Of Woman In Bathroom

BOSTON (CBS) - Dr. Marcus Cooper is a Worcester cardiologist and a professor at UMass Medical School. But now he's off the job and off campus, after a student there accused him of snapping nude pictures of her in the bathroom.

Police say it happened September 1st. The 26-year-old student reported seeing a man snapping a cell picture of her through the stall door. She told police she ran after him and it was the doctor.

People near the campus say it's disgusting if true. "That's pretty bad," one man said. "It's really unprofessional of him."

Another person told us, "No one should go through having their rights violated like that."

WBZ went to his North Grafton home where his neighbors say he lives with his wife and young boys. A woman inside told us to leave and threatened to call police.

UMass Medical School released a statement saying when they found out, "they responded quickly, appropriately and thoroughly to the reported incident, which resulted in charges being filed."

Cooper faced a judge for a hearing Tuesday, he's back in court in December.
